Hemp was banned under the Tax Stamp Act. However, it wasn't called by "hemp" but by Cannibus, its technical name. There was one major backer pushing this legislation--DuPont. The same here the production of hemp was banned was the same year in which DuPont introduced their Nylon fiber. Coendince--not at all. The only competition to their Nylon was hemp. It put thousands of farmers out of business! The really sad part, most politicans did even know what they voted on because they didn't use hemp in the text of the law. Sooo give thanks to DUPONT!
